About the Village at Wellard

Located 35km south of Perth, The Village at Wellard is the first dedicated Transport Oriented Development in Perth’s southern corridor and features a pedestrian friendly village centered around the Wellard train station on the Perth to Mandurah railway line.

Planning has focused on incorporating sustainability principles into merging water sensitive and energy efficient design with the conservation and rehabilitation of existing wetlands.

The Village at Wellard has been formally recognized by the Planning Institute of Australia (WA), receiving awards in all award categories, including the 2005 Award for Excellence for the WA Planning Minister’s Sustainability Award and more recently the Urban Development Institute of Australia’s Judges Award for Excellence in 2008.

The Village at Wellard is a joint venture between the Department of Housing and Peet Limited.
