Landport is the new website promoting the housing and land developments of the Department of Housing and its joint venture partners.
The Department of Housing
The Department of Housing is a major builder, home financier and land developer in Western Australia, representing all of the State Government's housing functions.
Through the sale of vacant urban land and various housing initiatives, the Department aims to:
- supply lots for the construction of public housing;
- encourage home ownership by providing a continual supply of affordable land in attractive and sustainable communities; and
- raise revenue to support the Department’s social housing program.
Joint Ventures
Many of the Department’s projects are joint ventures with the private sector. Since the first joint venture arrangement in 1992, the program has been responsible for the development of over 17,500 lots.
Urban Renewal Program
The Department of Housing's Urban Renewal Program is the largest of its type ever undertaken in Western Australia.
New Living is refurbishing old rental properties and offering them for sale. New rental homes are then provided in other areas to create a more balanced spread of public housing.
